Jay started his career in NYC in 1986 as an assistant fashion photographer. In 1989, he joined the Navy and worked as a systems analyst and logistics expert. Soon after the he left the Navy in 1995, Jay took an art director’s position at MARC advertising out of Pittsburg. In 1996, he helped open MARC’s satellite office in Miami, where he worked as a senior art director and producer for 3 years. His creative responsibilities at MARC/Miami centered mainly around Holiday Inn and Simon Malls.
In the fall of 1999, Alex Bogusky of Crispin Porter + Bogusky brought Jay onboard as the Director of Production Services. The phenomenal growth of the agency enabled him to develop an expertise in maintaining the highest levels of quality in nearly all aspects of production. There he worked on such clients as Checkers, Longhorn Steakhouse, Miami Heat, Shimano and Mini Cooper.
In 1998, Jay left Crispin Porter + Bogusky to pursue a career in directing. He signed on as the Creative Director of WAC, a small South Miami web design firm with some surprising clients. The firm hired Jay to bring his broadcast and mixed medium experience to such clients as Sprint, PRC and Cayman National Bank. In the spring of 1995, Hunter Hamersmith hired Jay as the Vice President of Broadcast Creative Services. Since then, he has directed and created all broadcast content for Sandals Resorts.
